A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
APPROVAL OF SPECIFICATIONS AND CALL FOR BIDS AND AWARD OF
CONTRACT FOR ONE FORD ESCAPE HYBRID VEHICLE
WHEREAS, replacement of one pool car (Unit 1035) is funded in the FY 2011/12,
Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Budget; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City of Campbell's Purchasing Policy, if the
equipment's estimated fair market value is greater than $25,000, the formal bid process
must be used; and
WHEREAS, a Ford Escape Hybrid has been identified as a suitable replacement for the
existing pool car; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously acknowledged that low emission vehicles
can assure clean air, tend to have lower operating costs and reduce air pollution; and
WHEREAS, purchase of this vehicle supports the Council's continued efforts to
compliment the City's "Green" work plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approve specifications
and call for bids for one Ford Escape Hybrid not to exceed $32,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Public Works
Superintendent to award the contract for this replacement equipment.
