A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
FOR AUTHORIZIATION TO PURCHASE AN UNMARKED SPECIAL
ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE AND ONE PASSENGER VAN
BY UTILIZATION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA CONTRACT AND
AUTHORIZATION FOR THE INTERIM PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT
TO AWARD CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, the existing police undercover unit and passenger van have reached the
end of their useful life; and
WHEREAS, the adopted Fiscal Year 2011/12, Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance
Budget has appropriated funds for their replacement; and
WHEREAS, the estimated fair market value for each units is greater than $25,000;
therefore Council authorization to purchase the equipment is required; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Municipal Code Section 3.20.030, allows for the
procurement of these vehicles through the State of California bid process; and
WHEREAS, the Ford F150 4x2 Style Side Super Crew Cab has been identified as a
suitable replacement vehicle to the existing Ford Explorer; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting the purchase of one new Ford F150 4x2 Style Side
Super Crew Cab, not to exceed $37,000, and one new Ford passenger van, not to
exceed $32,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the purchase
of a Ford F150 4x2 Style Side Super Crew Cab and Ford passenger van.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Interim Public
Works Superintendent to award the contract for procurement of this equipment.
