City Council Resolution No. 9552
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
CONDITIONALLY APPROVING A LIVE ENTERTAINMENT PERMIT FOR
RUTH McDONALD AND JAMES S. KOSHIYAMA TO PROVIDE KARAOKE
SINGING AND DANCING AT 2369 S. WINCHESTER BOULEVARD
After due consideration of the application of Ruth McDonald and James S. Koshiyama
for a live entertainment permit at 2369 S. Winchester Boulevard, the City Council finds as
follows:
1. The existing restaurant with bar is located in a tenant space within a commercial
shopping center;
2. The existing restaurant with bar is located approximately 200 feet from the nearest
residential uses;
3. The proposed live entertainment, in the form of karaoke singing and dancing, is
incidental to the primary function of the site as a restaurant with a bar;
4. The existing shared parking facilities of the shopping center will adequately address
the parking needs of the subject site given that no additional seating will be added
to the restaurant with bar in conjunction with the addition of the live entertainment
uses; and
5. The conditions of approval incorporated herein should reasonably preclude
disturbance to the neighborhood.
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL FURTHER FINDS AND CONCLUDES that the
proposed activity at the proposed location by these applicants is not likely to create a public
nuisance.
WHEREFORE, in light of the foregoing findings, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Campbell that the application of Ruth McDonald and James S.
Koshiyama for a live entertainment permit at 2369 S. Winchester Boulevard is granted, subject
to the following conditions:
1. The approval is for karaoke singing and karaoke dancing only; and
2. Applicants shall comply with all conditions of approval as set forth in Resolution
3226 of the Campbell Planning Commission.
