RESOLUTION NO. 9578
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING BILL M. HELMS FOR THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF
SERVICE AS A CITY EMPLOYEE
WHEREAS, Bill M. Helms was hired by the City of Campbell as a Civil Engineer
Assistant on September 1, 1964; and
WHEREAS, during his thirty-five years of service Bill Helms has held various
positions including Assistant Civil Engineer, Associate Civil Engineer, Engineering Manager,
Deputy Public Works Director, and currently Environmental Programs/Land Development
Manager; and
WHEREAS, Bill Helms continues to contribute significantly to the development of
various projects in the City, including 550 w. Hamilton A venue (Pulte Homes and Larkspur
Hotel), storm water management, non-point source, solid waste collection, Pruneyard
expansion, development of the former Winchester Drive-In site as both a technology park and
community park, and the extension of the County Light Rail System through Campbell, known
as the Vasona Corridor; and
WHEREAS, Bill Helms admits his preference not to retire because he would have to
spend his hours gardening;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby commends Bill M. Helms for his dedication and service to the citizens of
Campbell for the past thirty-five years.
