RESOLUTION NO. 9505
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
RELEASING A mVENILE ACCOUNT ABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT AWARD TO
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA AS PART OF A
REGIONAL JUVENILE CRIME ENFORCEMENT COALITION
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell works with the cities of Gilroy, Los Gatos, Milpitas,
Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and the County of Santa Clara in a
collaborative effort in the area of truancy abatement; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Truancy Abatement Collaborative (T AC) was created
to address the problem of truancy on a countywide basis, and the T AC wishes to develop a
computerized data base and tracking system for monitoring school attendance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell declines to directly accept funds made available through
the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program administered by the Office of Criminal
Justice Planning;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby waives its right to the entire direct subgrant award and authorizes the funds to be expended
by the County of Santa Clara for the mutual benefit of the City and the County in the area of truancy
abatement.
