A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL AND
THE CITY OF CAMPBELL REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD
DESIGNATING A 36,700 SQUARE FOOT SITE ALONG CIVIC CENTER DRIVE
BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD STREETS AS THE PREFERRED SITE
FOR A DOWNTOWN PARKING FACILITY
WHEREAS, Section B(1)(b) of the Second Amended and Restated Central Campbell
Redevelopment Plan states as a redevelopment objective to assist in the provision of adequate on-street
and off-street parking between the loop streets; and
WHEREAS, the Agency commissioned Gordon Chong & Partners to complete a downtown
parking demand study and site alternative analysis for a new downtown parking facility; and
WHEREAS, Several alternative sites and configurations were analyzed for efficiency, cost,
accessibility, optimizing downtown development, and creating development opportunities along
Campbell Avenue; and
WHEREAS, there are no public parking facilities west of Second Street and only one 13
space lot west of First Street and it is in the best interest of the comprehensive develop!llent of
downtown that a balance of public parking be provided to encourage a balanced development pattern;
WHEREAS, Alternative A-3 generates the most parking spaces in the most cost efficient
design compared to the other alternatives considered;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell City Council and the
City of Campbell Redevelopment Agency designates Alternative A3, an approximately 36,700 square
foot area along Civic Center Drive between Second and Third Street as the preferred site for a new
downtown parking facility.
