RESOLUTION NO. 9447
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING
CHARLENE M. CASE
FOR THIRTY -EIGHT YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case was employed by the City of Campbell from March 7,
1960, until her retirement as an Administrative Aide on August 7, 1998; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case is the first person to reach the thirty-eight year milestone
as a staff member of the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case is a member of the Barbano family which traces its roots
to the early orchard days of the community of Campbell in the last century; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case was nominated as a "Woman of Achievement" for Santa
Clara County in 1975; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case developed, implemented, and successfully managed the
City's service request system which has proven to be an important resource for initiating se.rvices
and tracking them to completion; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case helped acquire and administer millions of dollars in State
grants used to develop parks and construct pedestrian and bicycle projects including the highly
successful Los Gatos Creek Streamside Park; and
WHEREAS, Charlene M. Case has represented the City with professionalism in the
National Arbor Day Foundation and the Maintenance Superintendents Association; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, on behalf of the citizens and staff of the City of Campbell
wishes to express its appreciation to Charlene M. Case for thirty-eight years of loyal and
valuable service and send best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council ofthe City of Campbell
declares October 29, 1998, CHARLENE M. BARBANO CASE DAY in the City of Campbell.
