RESOLUTION NO. 9377
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT
FOR A COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCH AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT
COMPUTER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Police Department is engaged in the acquisition of computer
information and communications systems to enable the Department to provide effective
police services to the community;
WHEREAS, the Police Department has distributed a Request for Proposal for
computer-aided dispatch and records management computer systems;
WHEREAS, respondents to the Police Department's Request for Proposal, Lucent
Technologies and Vision Software, offer services and products suited to the Department's
needs;
WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented with a request from staff to
authorize the Police Department to negotiate a contract with Lucent Technologies, or in
the event these negotiations are unsatisfactory, Vision Software;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Campbell that the Police Department be authorized to approve and execute an agreement
for services with Lucent Technologies or Vision Software.
