RESOLUTION NO. 9350
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL CONGRA TULA TING KIRKORIAN ENTERPRISES
ON BEING SELECTED "BUSINESS OF THE YEAR"
WHEREAS, Kirkorian Enterprises is a family-owned business that has operated in the City of
Campbell for over forty years; and
WHEREAS, Ira Kirkorian established his first commercial building project in Campbell in
1962 successfully completing a project of four-plexes on property near Fulton and Campbell,
followed by the building of Kirkwood Plaza, a shopping center on the property; and
WHEREAS, Kent Kirkorian, Ira's son, officially joined the business in 1960, followed by
granddaughter Kim twenty five years later, and grandson John in 1990; and
WHEREAS, Kirkorian Enterprises has always supported the business community and
contributed to many organizations including the Campbell Education Foundation, Blackford
Elementary School's "Writing to Read" Program, Latimer School, the Boy Scouts of America,
the Children's Cancer Association, and the American Heart Association; and
WHEREAS, the Campbell Chamber of Commerce selected Kirkorian Enterprises "Business of
the Year," and honored three generations of the Kirkorian family, Marguerite Kirkorian,
widow of the late Ira Kirkorian, son Kent, and granddaughter Kim and grandson John, when
this award was presented to them at the Annual Citizen of the Year Banquet on February 28,
1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council congratulate
Kirkorian Enterprises on being selected "Business of the Year" and recognize the many
contributions this family-owned business has made to the Campbell community.
