RESOLUTION NO. 9324
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell
Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the
reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best
interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided
by the City; and
WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to
meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby approve the new job description for the position of Community Center
Coordinator (see attached Exhibit A).

EXHIBIT A
CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMUNITY CENTER COORDINATOR
DEFINITION
Under supervision, to oversee and coordinate the Community Center facility use and occasional rental
program; to supervise part-time temporary employees; to coordinate Community Center equipment use;
to purchase and distribute first aid supplies, and conduct quarterly safety inspections; to assist the
Community Center Manager in general facility management and operations; and to do related work as
required.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Coordinates the facility use and occasional rental programs at the City's Community Center; represents the
City and its facility use policies and fees to customers; serves as staff liaison with local community groups
utilizing Community Center facilities; determines staffing needs relating to facility uses and schedules part-
time staff as needed; recruits, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates part-time temporary staff; coordinates
use and maintains Community Center A V and facility equipment; recommends new equipment and
procedures relating to facility use; maintains records such as equipment and uniform inventory, annual
utility usage/expenses, and annual summary of Building Maintenance Work Orders; assists with the
processing of bills and claims relating to the Community Center and Building Maintenance; will be required
to work evening hours on a regular basis, and may be required to work nights and weekends as needed;
and performs other duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in
Recreation, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration.
Experience directly related to facility management is highly desirable.
Responsible, related work experience may be substituted on a year for year
basis for up to two years of the required education.
Knowledge of:
Facility management procedures, practices, and issues; effective customer
service principles; basic personal computer software applications; public
safety issues and practices; budget management; recreation program needs
and operations.
Ability to:
Coordinate the facility use and occasional rental program at the
Community Center including facility scheduling; operate and manage the
facility scheduling software program; determine staffing needs and
schedule appropriate staff; recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate part-
time temporary staff; prepare written reports and maintain records; speak
and write effectively; establish and maintain good working relationships
with a variety of community groups, customers, City staff, and the general
public; handle multiple assignments in a timely manner; work with a
minimum of supervision.
Possession of:
Valid California Driver's License.
