CC Resolution 9313 RESOLUTION NO. 9313 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve two new job descriptions for the permanent part-time positions of Nutrition Site Manager and Food Server (Exhibits A and B attached). PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 1998, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers: Conant, Furtado, Dean, Watson NOES: Council members: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: Dougherty APPROVED: ATTEST: tL~ Anne Bybee, City Clerk EXHIBIT A CITY OF CAMPBELL NUTRITION SITE MANAGER DEFINITION Under general supervision of the Senior Services Supervisor, manages the Senior Nutrition Program which provides daily lunches to older adults; organizes social activities for nutrition site participants; provides participants with social services information and referrals; and does related work as required. TYPICAL DUTIES Coordinates with food caterer and County Nutritionist in planning menus to meet basic daily nutritional requirements; orders meals and necessary supplies; is responsible for meal ticket sales and daily deposits; opens and closes facility; answers telephones, greets visitors, and registers participants; is responsible for the recruitment, placement, supervision and training of volunteers; supervises and evaluates the Food Server; schedules transportation for program participants; maintains records and reports as required by the City and County; attends meetings as required; publicizes programs and services; and performs other related duties as required. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of high school plus one year of supervisory experience in a related field. Experience working with the elderly is desirable. Ability to: Basic supervisory principles; safety practices and procedures; inventory and supply practices. Manage the City's Senior Nutrition Program while maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety; communicate and work effectively with senior citizens; supervise and train volunteers and paid staff as assigned; keep accurate records, and provide monthly reports to the County's Social Services Agency; assist with emergencies in a calm and effective manner. Knowledge of: Possession of: Valid California Driver's License. Est. 1/98 J:\DOC\SPEC2 EXHIBIT B CITY OF CAMPBELL FOOD SERVER DEFINITION Under close supervision of the Nutrition Site Manager, serves meals to senior citizens; monitors and records food temperatures; cleans up after each meal; maintains proper level of cleanliness in work areas; and does related work as required. TYPICAL DUTIES Serves catered meals in measured portions to senior adults; monitors temperature of hot and cold food; keeps records of supplies and inventories; assists staff and volunteers in setting up and cleaning dining room and kitchen areas; maintains safe and sanitary procedures in all areas of food service, from meals delivery to cleanup of kitchen and dining areas; washes and sterilizes flatware; and performs other related duties as required. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Equivalent to the completion of high school plus six months experience in food service and general kitchen operations. Knowledge of: Principles of sanitation and public health standards for handling food; food temperatures and kitchen safety. Lift approximately 20 pounds and other heavy supplies; follow oral and written instructions; communicate and work effectively with senior citizens. Ability to: Est. 1/98 J:\DOC\SPEC2
