RESOLUTION NO. 9282
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell
Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the
reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best
interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided
by the City; and
WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to
meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
does hereby approve the revised job description for the position of Recreation Program
Coordinator (Exhibit A attached).

CITY OF CAMPBELL
RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
DEFINITION
Under supervision, to plan and organize a variety of services, programs and activities related to an assigned
division (Youth, Senior Services, or Sports, Aquatics, and Fitness) of the Recreation and Community Services
Department; and to do related work as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Plan, schedule, implement and evaluate a variety of division programs which may include special interest
classes, recreation programs, special events, trips and excursions, holiday events, aquatics programs, fitness
activities, sports leagues and summer camps; may recruit, select, train, supervise and evaluate temporary
part-time and seasonal personnel; schedules use of facilities and assists with registration; works with other
agencies and community groups to develop programs; develops public information and publicity material and
other related informational materials; prepares written reports and maintains records; may supervise use of
departmental equipment and facilities; and performs other related duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in
recreation/leisure services or closely related field. Responsible experience related
to the assigned program area is desirable. (Experience closely related to assigned
program area may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to two years of
the required education. A minimum of 60 semester units towards a
recreation/leisure services or closely related degree would still be required.)
Knowledge of: Basic recreation programming principles; effective organizational and leadership
techniques; good interpersonal and public relations skills.
Ability to: Organize and conduct recreational activities; work with a variety of community
groups and the general public; determine program needs and demands; speak and
write effectively; work with a minimum of supervision; prepare and maintain
records and reports.
Possession of: Valid California Driver's License.
Spons, Aquatics, and Fitness position: Proof of the following four cenijications is
required by no later than the end of the six-month probationary period:
l--Ellis &: Associates National Pool &: Waterpark Lifeguard Training
Instructor Cenification.
2--LevelI American Swim Coaches Association Certijication.
3--CPR and First Aid Cenification.
4--Aerobics Cenijication-Options are: a) AFAA Primary Cenijication;
or b) ACE Cenification,' or c) Pipeline Aerobics Cenijication; or
d) DeAnza College Aerobics Certijication.
