RESOLUTION NO. 9253
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING USE OF RULE 20A FUNDS AND DIRECTING STAFF
TO PROCEED WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT FOR THE UNDERGROUNDING OF EXISTING
OVERHEAD FACILITIES ON CAMPBELL AVENUE BETWEEN
RAILWAY AND BASCOM AVENUES
WHEREAS, the City Council approved and adopted the Park Improvement
Implementation Plan and the Capital Improvement Program, which includes proposed
improvements to Campbell Park; and
WHEREAS, utility anchor cables will cause an impediment to proposed improvements
to Campbell Park; and
WHEREAS, enhancement of the major entrances to the City is an adopted Strategic
Goal; and
WHEREAS, this proposal is in conformance with the provisions of the Public Utilities
Commission Rule 20A; and
WHEREAS, undergrounding utilities at this time would enhance the appearance of a
major entrance to the City, Campbell Park, and remove impediments to the future Campbell
Park improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the Public Works Department is authorized to cause the under grounding of the existing
overhead utilities from Railway Avenue to Bascom Avenue utilizing Rule 20A funds, and to
proceed with the establishment of an underground utility district.
