RESOLUTION NO. 9194
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING
BOB AND FRAN SNEED
AS 1996 CAMPBELL'S CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Bob and Fran Sneed have been residents of the City of Campbell since 1957 during
which time they have raised a family and been active in local charitable, business and
governmental affairs; and
WHEREAS, Bob Sneed has been active in the Campbell Historical Museum, was a driving force
is organizing the community's "Great Gatsby Day," and was a strong promoter of the Farmers'
Market in downtown Campbell; and
WHEREAS, Bob Sneed has been active in the Downtown Business Association, an association
formed by downtown merchants to promote their retail businesses, and is Publisher of the
Association's newsletter; and
WHEREAS, Fran Sneed was active in their daughters' school activities and served as Home and
School Club President at Coventry, Castro and Campbell High Schools; and
WHEREAS, Fran Sneed has been an expert genealogist and a supporter of local high school
scholarship programs sponsored by the Campbell Women's Service Club and the Country
Woman's Club of Campbell for the past 17 years; and
WHEREAS, Bob and Fran Sneed are avid supporters of the opera, symphonies, San Jose
Repretory Theater and attend Saratoga Drama Group and West Valley Light Opera shows.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors Bob and Fran Sneed on being named 1996 Campbell's Citizen of the Year
in recognition of their contributions to the community, voluntary service to charitable
organizations, and involvement in business and governmental affairs.
