RESOLUTION NO. 9174
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING DONALD R. BURR FOR
EIGHT YEARS OF SERVICE ON THE CAMPBELL CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Donald R. Burr was elected to the Campbell City Council in November, 1988 and
served an additional term commencing in 1992; and
WHEREAS, during his terms of office, Donald R. Burr served as Mayor in 1992 and again in
1995; and
WHEREAS, Donald R. Burr fulfilled numerous committee assignments during his tenure on the
City Council including representing the City of Campbell on the Traffic Authority Policy
Advisory Board; Joint Venture Silicon Valley; the Elementary School District Liaison
Committee; West Valley Mayors and Managers; and West Valley Sanitation District; and
WHEREAS, some of the projects that were completed during Donald R. Burr's tenure as a City
Councilmember include the acquisition of a portion of the San Tomas School site and
development of Jack Fischer Park; the purchase ofthe Winchester Drive-in site; the development
of Hyde Park; the Downtown Streetscape Project; the City Hall Accessibility Project; the gala
opening of the Ainsley House and Gardens; the renovation of the Pruneyard Shopping Center;
and development of a Neighborhood Police Center at San Tomas Garden Apartments; and
WHEREAS, Donald R. Burr has exhibited a high degree of public responsibility and served the
citizens of Campbell with commitment and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does
hereby commend and honor Donald R. Burr for his eight years of service as a City
Councilmember and his many contributions to the Campbell community.
