A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE
AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN PACIFIC
TRANSPORT A TION COMPANY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF GRADE
CROSSINGS AT CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, CAMPBELL AVENUE,
ORCHARD CITY DRIVE AND HACIENDA AVENUE, AND
APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell and the Southern Pacific Transportation Company wish
to reconstruct the existing grade crossings at Civic Center Drive, Campbell Avenue, Orchard
City Drive and Hacienda Avenue in order to improve traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Transportation Company will submit an Agreement for that
company to perform the necessary design and construction to improve these crossings through
reconstruction if the City of Campbell agrees to provide all necessary funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute an Agreement with
Southern Pacific Transportation Company for the improvement of grade crossings at Civic
Center Drive, Campbell Avenue, Orchard City Drive and Hacienda Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the attached Budget Adjustment in the amount of
$200,000 is hereby approved.
