RESOLUTION NO. 8991
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL COMMENDING ROBERT J. LOCKWOOD
ON IDS 33 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Chief Robert J. Lockwood's career with the City of Campbell began on July 1, 1963
as a Campbell Police Reserve Officer; and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood was appointed as a Police Officer on June 1, 1966, with
promotions to Agent in 1971, to Sergeant in 1974, to Lieutenant in 1984, to Captain in 1985, and to
Chief in January, 1996; and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood received the "Officer of the Year" recognition from Chief John
D. Morgan in 1969; and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood has served in every Division and assignment in an outstanding
manner and with the highest degree of professionalism during his 33 years with the Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood has distinguished himself in the law enforcement community as an
expert and leader in public safety communications systems; and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood has always had a long-standing commitment to providing excellent
service to the Campbell community; and
WHEREAS, Chief Lockwood is a member in good standing of numerous professional
organizations, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, California Police Chiefs
Association, Santa Clara County Police Chiefs Association, and California Law Enforcement Association
of Records Supervisors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and commends Chief Robert J. Lockwood on his retirement from the City of Campbell after
33 years of service.
