RESOLUTION NO. 8984
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING
MARK J. OCHENDUSZKO, CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, Mark J. Ochenduszko has served as City Manager of the City of Campbell since
July, 1992; and
WHEREAS, Mark J. Ochenduszko provided outstanding executive staff support to the City
Council and fostered a sense of "team spirit" among City staff; and
WHEREAS, Mark J. Ochenduszko is a hard-working administrator who managed the City of
Campbell through challenging times with a high degree of professionalism and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Mark J. Ochenduszko oversaw the transition of fire services from the City of
Campbell Fire Department to the Santa Clara Central Fire District, and implemented $2.4
million in budget reduction strategies in order to bring the City's 1993/94 fiscal year budget into
balance; and
WHEREAS, as Campbell's City Manager, Mark J. Ochenduszko managed many projects of
major significance for our community including the acquisition and development of Hyde Park
and Jack Fischer Park; the purchase of the Winchester Drive-in site by the Redevelopment
Agency; the completion of the Downtown Streetscape Project; the gala opening of the Ainsley
House and Gardens; the opening of a Neighborhood Police Center at San Tomas Garden
Apartments; and the Annual "Summer Concert Series" at Orchard City Green; and
WHEREAS, Mark J. Ochenduszko was also heavily involved in the successful regional effort
to increase library services in the Santa Clara County Library System; and
WHEREAS, under Mark J. Ochenduszko's leadership, Campbell's first Strategic Plan was
developed providing the City with strategic goals, objectives and action strategies for the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
commends Mark J. Ochenduszko for his service to the City of Campbell, and wishes him
continued success in his upcoming professional transition.
