RESOLUTION NO. 8962
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 26,1996
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell duly called and ordered held in said City
a Special Municipal Election on the 26th day of March, 1996, for the purpose of submitting to
the qualified electors thereof the election of one City Councilmember (short term); and
WHEREAS, said Special Municipal Election was held on Tuesday, March 26, 1996, and in
accordance with the law and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof
ascertained, determined and declared in all respects as required by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell as
follows:
1. That the City Clerk of the City of Campbell be and she is hereby instructed to enter this
Resolution on the minutes of the City Council as a statement of the result of said election.
2. That the whole number of ballots cast in said City at said Special Municipal Election was
7,036.
3. That at said election the following candidates were submitted to the electors of said City
and that the number of votes given in said City for each of said candidates were as follows:

4. That by said Resolution calling said Special Municipal Election said City of Campbell
was divided into thirty three (33) voting precincts for the purpose of said election, and that the
whole number of votes cast for each candidate and in each of said precincts was as is attached
hereto and made a part hereof and marked "Exhibit A."
5. That all absent voters' ballots have been duly received and canvassed in time for and in
the manner required by law, and the result is included in the totals outlined in "Exhibit A."
6. That the following candidate is elected:
CITY COUNCIL (1 Seat - Short Term)
Dan Furtado
7. That the term of office shall be for a short term, expiring November, 1998.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of April, 1996, by the following roll call vote:

I, Dwight M. Beattie, Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara,
State of California, hereby declare that a Special Municipal Election was held in
the CITY OF CAMPBELL on March 26, 1996 for the purposes offilling a vacancy
on the City Council of said City; and to wit:
That the official canvass of the returns of said election was conducted by
the office of the Registrar of Voters in accordance with the appropriate
provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California; and
That the Statement of Votes Cast, hereto attached, shows the whole
number of votes cast for each candidate in the CITY OF CAMPBELL, and in each
of the respective precincts; and that the totals shown for each candidate are
true and correct.
