RESOLUTION NO. 8889
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONSULTANT SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH PARSONS, BRINCKERHOFF, QUADE AND DOUGLAS, INC.
FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE COMBINED
HAMILTON AREA PROJECTS
WHEREAS, a June 20, 1995 Request for Qualifications produced submittals by 9 qualified firms,
and
WHEREAS, on August 8, 1995 a Request for Proposals was issued to four consulting firms; and
WHEREAS, an evaluation and ranking of written proposals, interviews and reference checking took
place with the four most qualified firms, and
WHEREAS, Parsons, Brinckerhoff, Quade and Douglas were determined to be the best qualified
firm for this project; and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 1995, the City Council authorized staff to negotiate a consultant services
agreement for conceptual project planning, preliminary engineering, and final design services for the
combined Highway 17 Loop/Hamilton Avenue Resurfacing project, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that a consultant services agreement be limited to preliminary
engineering services at this time; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the Capital Improvement Project budget (95-13) to cover
the costs of the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that the
Public Works Director is hereby authorized to execute a Consultant Services Agreement with Parsons,
Brinckerhoff, Quade and Douglas, Inc. for preliminary engineering services for the combined Hamilton
area projects.
