RESOLUTION NO. 8858
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING DON KING FOR TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Don King was hired by the City as an Engineering Aide II on
February 16, 1967 and will retire as an Engineering Technician II on August 15, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Don King has been instrumental in the design and construction of many
of the City's capital improvement projects such as Union Avenue widening, White Oaks
Road reconstruction and widening, Los Gatos Creek trail extension, Sunnyoaks Avenue
widening, and annual street resurfacing, sidewalk repair, and handicap ramp projects; and
WHEREAS, Don King has worked exceptionally well coordinating volunteer efforts
on such projects as the Storm Drain Stenciling Project and the Pavement Distress Surveys;
and
WHEREAS, Don King has provided countless maps and other information to
Campbell residents, developers, and contractors; and
WHEREAS, Don King could always be relied upon to provide historical information
on various public works projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby expresses its appreciation to Don King for 28 years of valuable service to
the City, and wishes him good health and happiness in his retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriate copy of this Resolution be
presented to Don King as a memento of his service to the City.
