RESOLUTION NO. 8856
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR PROJECT 93-76 TRAFFIC SAFETY
IMPROVEMENTS: HAMILTON/MARATHON AND HAMILTON/MILLICH MEDIAN
ISLANDS, AND PROJECT 85-02 CAMDEN/WINCHESTER POLE REMOVAL
AND AUTHORIZING THE READVERTISEMENT OF THE PROJECTS
WHEREAS, Council approved the plans and specifications for Project 93-76 Traffic
Safety Improvements: Hamilton/Marathon and Hamilton/Millich Median Islands and authorized
the solicitation of bids on June 6, 1995; and
WHEREAS, only one bid was received for the proposed projects; and
WHEREAS, the only bid received was substantially higher than the Engineer's Estimate
and was determined to be unbalanced and unresponsive; and
WHEREAS, many contractors expressed desire to submit a proposal for the project but
were unavailable to do so at this time due to their commitment to bid and construct large
projects; and
WHEREAS, the HES grant funding for the project is committed and readvertisement of
the projects is possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby rejects all bids submitted on July 14, 1995 for Project 93-76 Traffic Safety
Improvements: Hamilton/Marathon and Hamilton/Millich Median Islands, and Project 85-02
Camden/Winchester Pole Removal, and authorizes the resolicitation of bids for the project within
six months when directed by the Public Works Director.
