Being a Resolution of the City Council
of the City of Campbell Honoring
Dr. Arthur Low
as 1994 Citizen of the Year
WHEREAS, Dr. Arthur Low has been an active member of the Campbell Chamber of
Commerce for nearly 20 years, and has served as a member of the Board of Directors since
1993; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Arthur Low is the current director of the Santa Clara County Optometric
Society's Homeless Project, which he organized to provide free eye-care and eyeglasses to
the homeless, and was recently named Optometrist-of-the-Year by the Society in recognition
of his extensive community and professional services; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Arthur Low has been an active member of the Campbell Golden Lions
Club since 1976 and was presented with the Lion-of-the-Year Award in 1985; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Arthur Low is a member of the board of the Chinese Historical and
Cultural Project, and is currently co-chairing the annual Chinese Summer Festival; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Arthur Low is an active member of the Flying Doctors, YMCA's Indian
Guides Program, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Campbell Union Elementary
School District Healthy Start Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors Dr. Arthur Low on being named 1994 Campbell Citizen of the Year
in recognition of his contributions to the community, voluntary service to charitable
organizations, and involvement in business and governmental affairs.
