RESOLUTION NO. 8760
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH SANTA
CLARA COUNTY TRAFFIC AUTHORITY AND THE SUBMITTAL OF A
TRANSPORT A nON DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE 3 CLAIM
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Traffic Authority is working to identify and implement a
Route 85 Bicycle Corridor Plan; and
WHEREAS, the plan includes construction of the Mozart Pedestrian Overcrossing (POC) over
Route 17 to a new bridge across the Los Gatos Creek to link the neighborhoods on both sides of the
freeway; and
WHEREAS, on December 9, 1994 the Traffic Authority approved a Cooperative Agreement to
provide a bicycle bridge across Los Gatos Creek and compensate the City for local road repairs; and
WHEREAS, the City would be responsible to submit an application for Transportation
Development Act (TDA) funds to finance the design and construction of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby
authorizes the Public Works Director to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Santa Clara County
Traffic Authority for Design and Construction of a Bicycle Bridge over Los Gatos Creek Trail.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City Council hereby authorizes the submittal of a
Transportation Development Act application for the construction of the Mozart Pedestrian Overcrossing
Connection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Public Works
Director to negotiate and sign an amendment to an agreement with Biggs Cardosa to prepare plans and
specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves a budget adjustment in the amount
of $147,000 for the Mozart Pedestrian Overcrossing and local street repairs.
