RESOLUTION NO. 8704
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL CONGRATULATING MORNING UGHT WnGE NO. 42, lO.O.F.
ON THE CELEBRATION OF ITS 100 YEAR CHARTERING
WHEREAS, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Morning Light Lodge #42 was
chartered on September 6, 1894; and
WHEREAS, Charter Members included Colonel R.P. McGlincy, E.N. Parr, R.K. Thomas,
George Whitney, J.e. Lindermer, B.O. Curry and J.H. Campbell, and the first Grand Noble
was R.P. McGlincy; and
WHEREAS, Brother James H. Campbell gave the Lodge a lot on the southeast comer of
Campbell Avenue and First Street in 1902, and the original wooden building was used by
the Lodge until 1968 when it was replaced by a modem structure; and
WHEREAS, Morning Light Lodge No. 42, lO.O.F. is the earliest continuing fraternal
organization in Campbell and has performed charitable work in the community for 100
years; and
WHEREAS, Morning Light Lodge No. 42, lO.O.F. will celebrate the chartering of its lodge
one hundred years ago at a celebration on September 8, 1994, and will honor the memory
of its pioneer members who started and maintained the lodge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Campbell City Council congratulate
Morning Light Lodge No. 42, lO.O.F. on the occasion of its 100 year chartering.
