RESOLUTION NO. 8667
A RFSOLUTlON AMENDING THE
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell
Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the
reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best
interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the
City; and
WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed
to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030.
NOW, TIlEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell does hereby approve the revised job descriptions for the positions of Utility Worker
and Historic Museum Supervisor (was Historic Resources Supervisor) as shown on the attached
Exhibits A and B.

CITY OF CAMPBELL
lITIIJTY WORKER.
DEFINITION
Under supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semiskilled custodial, set-up, and
maintenance tasks in the care of City buildings; and performs related work as required.
TYPICAL DTJTIF~~
Performs custodial work such as sweeping, scrubbing, stripping and waxing floors, vacuuming,
dusting, and washing windows; arranges furniture and eqUIpment, and opens and closes facilities
according to written or verbal instructions; assists with or performs minor repairs on equipment;
assists with painting projects; picks up litter and removes refuse; may perform some
groundskeeping duties such as sweepin" hand watering, and operating power blower and
vacuum in outdoor areas; may be requIred to work evenings, weekends and holidays; and
performs other related work as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth ~rade. One year of
directly related experience in custodial and/or building
maintenance work.
Knowledge of:
Materials, tools, supplies and equipment used in custodial and
building maintenance work; safety practices and equipment.
Perform or learn to perform all assigned duties in the areas of
building maintenance and custodial work, pool maintenance, and
groundskeeping work; perform tasks requiring normal physical
dexterity and involving lifting up to 75 pounds; climb ladders
and perform work at considerable heights; follow oral and
written instructions; communicate effectively and maintain
positive public relations; work a flexible work schedule which
may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

CITY OF CAMPBELL
HISTORIC MUSEUM SUPERVISOR
DEFINITION
Under direction, to plan, organize and supervise the activities of the Historical Museum Division
within the Recreation and Community Services Department; and to do related work as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Plans, organizes and supervises programs and services related to the operation of the historical
museum; prepares and administers grants and other alternative funding; administers fiscal
resources; reviews and implements policies relating to facility use, collections management and
public programming; serves as a resource in matters relating to the rehabilitation of historic
buildings in the museum complex; coordinates and supervises public relations activities and the
development of promotional materials for the museum and related activities; oversees ~tance
of artifacts, archival materials and donations to the museum; supervises the preparation of
historical exhibits; administers museum collections; assists researchers in use of museum
resources; responds to history related requests; recruits, trains, and su~ises museum
volunteers and paid staff; aSSIsts the Historic Preservation Board and Civic Improvement
Commission in history related matters; serves as staff advisor to the Campbell Historical
Museum Foundation; and performs other related duties as required.
EMPLOYMRNT STANDARDS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from college with major work in museum
studies/management, history, public administration or related field;
and two years of experience in museum administration and/or
historic preservation.
Principles and practices of museum/historical site administration;
research and survey methods; archival retention and preservation
techniques; exhibit development and preparation methods.
Plan, implement and supervise division programs; communicate
effectively in oral and written form; maintain cooperative and
effective working relations with other staff members, civic and
advisory group members, and the public; work independently with
a minimum amount of supervision.
