CC Resolution 8659 RESOLUTION NO. 8659 BEING A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 180, THE CALIFORNIANS FOR PARKS & WILDLIFE BOND ACT OF 1994 (CALPAW'94) WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservation League has prepared the Californians for Parks and Wildlife (CALPA W) Initiative Bond Act which would allocate $1.9 billion for park acquisition, wetland preservation, trails, wildlife conservation, stream restoration, and acquisition of sensitive areas threatened by development throughout California; and WHEREAS, the 1994 CALPAW Initiative Bond Act includes $148,973 in funding for the City of Campbell in the Bond Act, as well as other potential funding; and $15,000,000 in funding for the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority; and WHEREAS, the CALP A W Initiative Bond Act also includes significant funding for other important park and recreation acquisition and preservation projects within California; and WHEREAS, a coalition of community and conservation groups, business and labor, historic preservation and other organizations have undertaken a volunteer, community-based effort to successfully qualify the CALPAW Initiative Bond Act for the June 1994 State ballot; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservation League has requested support for the CALP A W Initiative Bond Act campaign from all organizations supporting projects included in the Bond Act; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell to endorse and express its support for the 1994 CALP A W Initiative Bond Act.
