RESOLUTION NO. 8637
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FORWARD A
LETTER OF INTENT TO PURCHASE A PORTION OF THE
FORMER SAN TOMAS SCHOOL SITE AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell desires to purchase a portion of the former
San Tomas School Site for open space purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has adopted a Plan for the Purchase of
Surplus School Property in conformance with the provisions of the Naylor
Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has received formal notification from the
Campbell Union School District, dated February 26, 1994, of intent to dispose
of the former San Tomas School Site pursuant to the provisions of the
Naylor Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has 60 days to provide written notification
to the Campbell Union School District of intent to purchase a portion of the
former San Tomas School Site, pursuant to the provisions of the Naylor Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
direct and authorize the Mayor to sign a letter indicating the City's desire to
purchase said property and further authorizes the City Manager to complete
other negotiations as necessary for the purchase of said property.
