RESOLUTION NO. 8603
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR TDA FUNDS FOR PREPARATION
OF A COMPREHENSIVE BIKE PLAN AND FOR SUPPLEMENTING THE
CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE LOS GATOS CREEK TRAIL PEDESTRIAN/BIKE
BRIDGE ACROSS LOS GA TOS CREEK SOUTH OF CAMPBELL AVENUE
WHEREAS, new requirements for eligibility for TDA funds include having an adopted,
comprehensive bike plan for the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell does not have a comprehensive bike plan that meets the
criteria the state has established for such plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell has already been promised $80,000 in TDA funds to
support design and construction of a new pedestrian and bike bridge across Los Gatos Creek
just south of Campbell Avenue; and
WHEREAS, subsequent changes in bicycle path standards require a more expensive bridge
design than previously contemplated, and additional TDA funds are needed to complete the
Los Gatos Creek Trail Bridge project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell that
the Public Works Department is authorized to submit an application for TDA funds for the
completion of a comprehensive bike plan and for supplementing the capital budget for the Los
Gatos Creek Trail Pedestrian/Bike Bridge.
