CC Resolution 8600 RESOLUTION NO. 8600 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING EDWARD · PETE " EDWARDS AS 1993 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR WHEREAS, Pete Edwards has been a part of the Campbell community since the 1970' s when he was an officer of the First National Bank in the Campbell Plaza, and later became the manager of the Campbell Avenue branch of Bank of America; and WHEREAS, Pete was an active member of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce and was elected President of the Chamber in 1980; and WHEREAS, Pete was one of the original three people to found "Harvestival A Celebration of Community", which in subsequent years became the Prunefesti val and the Campbell Highland Garnes, and served as Chair of the games for five years during the mid 1970's; and WHEREAS, Pete is a long time supporter of various senior projects in Campbell, and was chosen as the first recipient of the Campbell Progressive Senior's Clara Hopkin's "Second Mile" Award in 1989 for his selfless hours of dedication to the Campbell Seniors, and; WHEREAS, Pete is an active member of the Campbell Kiwanis and has served in various capacities on this organization's Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, under the direction of Pete Edwards, Campbell's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was organized by the Campbell Kiwanis in 1993. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell recognizes and honors EDWARD .PETE" EDWARDS on being named 1993 CAMPBELL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of February, 1994 by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers: Conant, Ashworth, Burr, Dougherty, Watson NOES: Councilmembers: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: None APPROVED: 2:' 10tt IJ/~ Anne Bybee, Clty Clerk Mayor
