RESOLUTION NO. 8598
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSALS FOR RECYCLING AND RESIDENTIAL
YARD WASTE SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code 40057, the City of Campbell shall
provide for source reduction, recycling and composting activities;
WHEREAS, the State of California has found and declared in the enactment of the
Public Resources Code and the Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 that the rapidly
increasing volume of solid waste resulting from population growth, industrial expansion and
other factors requires an organized and comprehensive approach to solid waste
management; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Franchise Agreement provides for the City to
retain the right to contract with another business entity to provide recycling services for its
inhabitants, and the City desires to issue a Request for Proposals for Recycling and
Residential Yard Waste Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby authorizes the issuance of a Request for Proposals for Recycling and
Residential Yard Waste Services.
This Resolution hereby authorizes the Request for Proposals to be issued III
substantially the same form as is on file in the City's Office of the City Clerk.
