CC Resolution 8592 RESOLUTION NO. 8592 A RFSOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN EMPWYMENT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, construction of improvements within the public right-of-way is an important aspect of the Public Works Department's ongoing workload; and WHEREAS, it is important that the installation of public improvements be inspected to insure conformance with City standards; and WHEREAS, funds have been identified to support a contractual Project Inspector; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the services of a contractual Project Inspector are needed by the Public Works Department to insure that improvements within the public right-of-way are installed according to City standards; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that Randy Westfall possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the responsibilities of Project Inspector as described in the attached job description; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute an Employment Agreement with Randy Westfall for the position of Project Inspector for the period January 5, 1994 through June 30, 1994. I--:l [ CL . -=-- Anne Bybee, City Clerk JOB DESCRIPTION PROJECT INSPECTOR This position is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and inspecting construction within the public right of way, assuring conformance to city policies, city standards, and the approved plans and specifications for the work; working with contractors and developers toward the safe and timely completion of projects; insuring public safety during construction; coordination with other City departments, utility companies, and testing labs as necessary; daily record keeping, processing of progress paYments, contract change orders, punch lists, and other contract documents; coordinating and holding preconstruct ion and job site meetings; and providing other assistance in project development as required.
