RESOLUTION NO. 8589
A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING CONCLUSION OF THE IMPASSE PROCEDURE
AND APPROVING AN UNPAID FURLOUGH PROGRAM AND MODIFICATION
TO POST EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY
FOR CLASSIFIED NON. MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED
BY CAMPBELL PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, representatives of the City Council of the City of Campbell and representatives of Campbell
Peace Officers Association met and conferred on wages, employee benefits and other terms and conditions of
employment between May 14, 1993 and September 20, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the meet and confer process reached impasse regarding the issues of twenty-four hours of
unpaid furlough and a one-fourth of one percent reduction in POST educational incentive for employees
represented by Campbell Peace Officers Association; and
WHEREAS, Resolution number 6647, adopted by the City Council of the City of Campbell sets forth
an impasse procedure to be followed if the meet and confer process has reached impasse; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City Council of the City of Campbell and representatives of Campbell
Peace Officers Association have implemented the impasse procedure set forth in Resolution number 6647; and
WHEREAS, the impasse procedure set forth in Resolution number 6647 was not successful in resolving
the disputed issues; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell has reviewed and considered the issues at impasse.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby
resolve the submitted impasse issues in favor of the final proposal submitted by City staff relative to the furlough
program and modification of POST educational incentive pay and recertification requirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does approve and adopt
twenty-four hours of unpaid furlough and a reduction of one-fourth of one percent in POST educational
incentive, together with a reduction in POST recertification requirements for each employee represented by
Campbell Peace Officers Association.
