RESOLUTION NO. 8587
A RESOLUTION OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL
OF TIlE CITY OF CAMPBELL ESTABUSHING
UNDERGROUND UTIliTY DISTRICI' NO.6
ON BASCOM AVENUE BETWEEN HAMILTON AVENUE AND CAMPISI WAY
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was called on December 13, 1993, at the hour of
7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall to ascertain whether the public necessity,
health, safety or welfare required the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of said utilities within that certain area
of the City described in Exhibit A, attached; and
WHEREAS, the notice of such hearing was given to all affected property owners as
shown on the last equalized tax role and to all affected utilities, in the manner and for the
time required by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing was duly held, and all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 8557 on October 5, 1993
directing Staff to pursue the formation of Underground Utility District No.6; and
WHEREAS, Bascom Avenue is a road extensively used by the general public and
carries a significant volume of vehicular traffic; and,
WHEREAS, this proposal is in conformance with the provisions of the Public Utilities
Commission's Rule 20A; and,
WHEREAS, undergrounding utilities at this time would enhance the appearance and
the useful life of the Bascom Avenue Interconnect and Resurfacing Project improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Council determined after said hearing that the Underground Utility
District herein created is in the general public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that, pursuant to Chapter 11.12 of the Campbell Municipal Code, the above-described area
is hereby declared an Underground Utility District, and is designated as Underground Utility
District No.6 of the City of Campbell. Attached hereto, and hereby incorporated as a part
of this resolution, is a map delineating the boundaries of said District;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby fix December 31,
1994, as the date on which affected property owners must be ready to receive underground
service, and does hereby order the removal of all poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying
electric, communication or similar or associated service within Underground Utility District
No.6 on or before March 31, 1995.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to notify all
affected utilities and all persons owning real property within Underground Utility District No.
6 of the adoption of this resolution within ten (10) days after the date of such adoption. Said
City Clerk shall further notify said property owners of the necessity that, if they or any person
occupying such property desire to continue to receive electric, communication or other similar
or associated service, they or such occupant shall, by the date fixed in this resolution, provide
all necessary facility changes on their premises so as to receive such service from the lines of
the supplying utility or utilities at a new location, subject to applicable rules, regulations and
tariffs of the respective utility or utilities on file with the Public Utilities Commission of the
State of California. Such notification shall be by mailing a copy of this resolution, together
with a copy of said Municipal Code, Chapter 11.12, to affected property owners, as such are
shown on the last equalized assessment roll, and to the affected utilities.

EXHIBIT "A"
That certain real property situate in the City of Campbell, County of Santa Clara, State of
California and being a portion of Section 26, Township 7 South, Range 1 West, Mount
Diablo Base and Meridian and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the centerline of South Bascom Avenue, distant thereon
south 130.44 feet from the centerline of Hamilton Avenue;
THENCE at right angles, west 47.00 feet to the most southerly corner of that certain
parcel of land as granted to the City of Campbell by GCA Enterprises and recorded in Book
G039 Page 212 of Official Records of said County; said aforementioned southerly corner
also being of the westerly line of said South Bascom Avenue;
THENCE along said westerly line of Bascom Avenue, south 68.27 feet to the
northerly line of the land as described in Book 1,696 at Page 1300 of Official Records of
said County;
THENCE along said aforementioned northerly line, N 890 59' W 160.00 feet and
south 60.00 feet to the southerly line of Parcel "A" as shown on parcel map recorded in
Book 527, Page 7, of said County;
THENCE along aforementioned southerly line, N 890 59' W 80.06 feet more or less
to a point in the easterly line of that certain 30 foot strip of land as described in the deed
from Lena Campisi to the County of Santa Clara as recorded in Book 1029, Page 478 of
Official Records of said County; said point also lying on a curve having a radius of 315.00
feet being concave to the west, a tangent bearing to said aforementioned point bears
S 0040' 44" W.

THENCE southerly along aforementioned easterly line of the 30 foot strip of land,
through a central angle of 31028' 21", an arc length of 173.02 feet;
THENCE tangent and continuing along said easterly line of the aforementioned 30
foot strip, S 300 22' 55" W 476.69 feet more or less to the intersection with the northerly line
of Creekside Way as shown upon that certain record of survey as recorded in Book 645,
Page 23 of Maps of said County;
THENCE along the northerly line of Creekside Way the following courses and
distances: N 60037' 40" E 21.23 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve being concave to
the southwest and having a radius of 263.75 feet;

THENCE southeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 200 14' 20", an
arc length of 93.17 feet;
THENCE tangent, S 400 23' 20" E 11.00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve
being concave to the southwest and having a radius of 203.75 feet;
THENCE southeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 100 23' 20", an
arc length of 36.94 feet;
THENCE along a radial line which is common to said last mentioned curve and the
next mentioned curve, said common radial line bears N 600 00' E;
THENCE S 60000' W 16.75 feet to the beginning of a curve being concave to the
southwest and having a radius of 248.00 feet;
THENCE southeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 2054' 41", an arc
length of 12.60 feet more or less to the northerly line of Parcel No.4 as shown on that
certain parcel map as recorded in Book 476, Pages 28 and 29 of Maps of said County;
THENCE along said aforementioned northerly line, N 89047' E 64.03 feet more or
less to the easterly line of said aforementioned Parcel No.4;
THENCE along said easterly line of Parcel No.4, south 195.50 feet to the centerline
of Campisi Way (formerly Bascom access);
THENCE along Campisi Way, N 89' 47" E 407 feet more or less to the
aforementioned centerline of South Bascom Avenue;
THENCE north along said centerline 1,044.51 feet more or less to the point of
beginning.
