CC Resolution 8561
RESOLUTION NO. 8561
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
DESIGNATING OCTOBER 27,1993, AS NATIONAL
UNFUNDED FEDERAL MANDATES DAY IN THE CITY
OF CAMPBELL
Whereas, over the past several years, the U.S. Congress has passed dozens of federal
mandates which must be carried out by local governments; and
Whereas, the practice of imposing, but not funding, costly mandates on local
governments, coupled with cuts in federal urban aid over the past decade, is now adding
significantly to the already serious fiscal problems of local governments; and
Whereas, the U.S. Conference of Mayors has requested cities and counties across the
nation designate October 27,1993, NATIONAL UNFUNDED FEDERAL MANDATES
DAY, to alert the federal government about the financial burdens of unfunded mandates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Campbell designates
October 27,1993, as NATIONAL UNFUNDED MANDATES DAY.
