RESOLUTION NO. 8557
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING
USE OF RULE 20A FUNDS AND DIRECTING STAFF TO
PROCEED WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN
UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT FOR THE
UNDERGROUNDING OF EXISTING OVERHEAD FACILITIES
ON BASCOM AVENUE BETWEEN HAMILTON AVENUE AND CAMPISI WAY
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 8370 on September 2, 1992
committing funds for the construction of the Bascom Avenue Interconnect and Resurfacing
Project; and
WHEREAS, Bascom Avenue is a road extensively used by the general public and
carries a significant volume of vehicular traffic; and,
WHEREAS, this proposal is in conformance with the provisions of the Public Utilities
Commission's Rule 20A; and,
WHEREAS, undergrounding utilit~es at this time would enhance the appearance and
the useful life of the Bascom Avenue Interconnect and Resurfacing Project improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Campbell
that the Public Works Department is authorized to cause the undergrounding of the existing
overhead utilities in conjunction with the Bascom Avenue Interconnect and Resurfacing
Project utilizing Rule 20A funds, and to proceed with the establishment of an underground
utility district.
