RESOLUTION NO. 8398
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE PERMANENT INSTALLATION OF SPEED HUMPS
ON NORTH CENTRAL AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the permanent
installation of traffic circles to mitigate traffic problems in
the North Central Avenue neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has separately considered whether
to approve speed humps on North Central Avenue as an integral part
of the traffic controls for the North Central neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the city Council finds there is significant support
from the residents to retain the temporary speed humps
permanently, and also finds that removal of the speed humps would
lead to increased traffic impacts to the neighborhood;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Campbell that the existing speed humps on North Central
Avenue will be retained permanently at their present locations,
and the City Engineer is hereby authorized to proceed with
informal contracting to modify the speed humps to prevent drivers
from using the sidewalks to avoid driving over the humps.
