RESOLUTION 2900
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL,
RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A TEXT AMENDMENT
TO THE CAMPBELL MUNICIPAL CODE, AMENDING
CHAPTER 21.53, CITY-INITIATED APPLICATION,
PLANNING FILE NO. TA 94-01.
After notification and public hearing as specified by law on proposed
amendments to the text of the Campbell Municipal Code, and after
presentation by the City Attorney, proponents and opponents, the hearing
was dosed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, and based upon the
following findings, the Commission did determine that there was a
significant need to amend Chapter 21.53. to the Campbell Municipal Code.
The proposed Text Amendment provides criteria for the placement, size
and display period of real estate signs.
The proposed Text Amendment establishes criteria for temporary signs
and promotional devices and clarifies how many days per calendar year
temporary signs may be displayed.

The proposed Text Amendment provides a definition for window signs
and the maximum allowable sign area for window signs.
Based upon the foregoing findings of fact, the Planning Commission further
finds and concludes that:
The proposed Text Amendment eliminates confusing and contradictory
language regarding temporary signs.
The amended review procedures will facilitate enforcement of
temporary signs.
The Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the City Council
adopt the attached Ordinance enacting the necessary legislation to make the
proposed Text Amendment effective.
