RESOLUTION NO. 11390
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING
SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING SOLICITATION OF BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE RADAR
SPEED FEEDBACK SIGNS PROJECT 12-HH
WHEREAS, the City was awarded an HSIP grant of $198,000 for the Radar Speed
Feedback Signs Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 11341 approving a budget adjustment
recognizing HSIP grant funding of $198,000 and allocating a local match of $22,000 from
the City's Bike/Pedestrian Traffic Safety Project 08-02 to the Radar Speed Feedback Signs
Project 12-HH; and
WHEREAS, final specifications and Engineer's Estimates have been prepared for the Radar
Speed Feedback Signs Project 12-HH; and
WHEREAS, the project would furnish and install radar speed feedback signs at locations on
eleven streets; and
WHEREAS, staff has requested and anticipates that Caltrans will approve the City's request
for authorization to proceed with construction of the project in April 2012; and
WHEREAS, following Caltrans approval, staff will advertise the project and review all bids
received to determine the lowest reasonable and responsive bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves the project specifications for the Radar Speed Feedback Signs Project 12-
HH and authorizes the City Engineer to issue such specifications for public bid; authorizes
the City Engineer to determine the lowest reasonable and responsive bidder; authorizes the
City Engineer to execute a construction contract in an amount not to exceed $178,000 and
encumber a maximum 10% construction contingency in an amount not to exceed $16,000
for a total amount not to exceed $194,000; and authorizes the City Engineer to execute
contract change orders up to and within the construction contingency.
