RESOLUTION NO.

BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WILL KEMPTON
CITY COUNCIL
COMMENDING
WHEREAS, Will Kempton, as Executive Director of the Santa Clara Traffic
Authority, has been responsible for managing a billion-dollar program
of County freeway improvements funded from Measure A, a half-cent sales
tax increment approved by local voters in November, 1984; and
WHEREAS, under the direction of Will Kempton, the improvements,
originally scheduled to take seventeen years to complete, are now
expected to be completed by the end of 1994; and
WHEREAS, Will Kempton serves on a variety of agency Boards and committees,
and has been active in community affairs; and
WHEREAS, Will Kempton is an active member of the American Public Works
Association and was recently named Top Public Works Leader for 1991 by the
South Bay Area Chapter of the American Public Works Association, and 1991
Manager of the Year by the California Transportation Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Will Kempton has personally addressed the needs and concerns
of the City of Campbell during development, design, and construction of
Route 85 through the West Valley; and
WHEREAS, Will Kempton possesses a unique combination of professionalism,
skill, energy, and commitment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell recognizes, commends, and personally thanks WILL KEMPTON for
his many years of extraordinary service to the Santa Clara County Traffic
Authority and the citizens of Santa Clara County.
