CC Resolution 8264 RESOLUTION NO. 8264 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL COMMENDING JAMES F. MC MULLEN WHEREAS, 1974, and has California; and James F. Mc Mullen began his career in fire service in served in numerous capacities throughout the state of under State and WHEREAS, James F. McMullen served as Deputy State Fire Marshal Governor Ronald Reagan from 1966-1971, and was appointed to the Building Standards Commission by Governor Edmund Brown in 1982; WHEREAS, James F. McMullen served as Fire Chief for the City of Campbell from 1979-1985, and was instrumental in the planning and construction of the Fire Department Headquarters; and WHEREAS, James F. McMullen was appointed California State Fire Marshal on July 1, 1985 by Governor George Deukmejian; and WHEREAS, James F. McMullen is the Chairman of the State Board of Fire Services, member of the Governor's Special Arson Task Force, NFPA's "Learn-Not-to-Burn" Technical Advisory Council and President of the National Association of State Fire Marshals; and WHEREAS, James F. McMullen holds a lifetime teaching credential and has taught fire science, management, and emergency services for numerous institutions and organizations; City many and the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the of Campbell recognizes and commends JAMES F. MC MULLEN for his years of service to fire departments in the State of California, wish him continued happiness and success in his retirement from office of State Fire Marshal.
