RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING
JANE P. MEYER-KENNEDY AS 1991 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Jane P. Meyer-Kennedy decided to make Campbell her home town in
1972, and while raising her two children, became very active in the Santa Clara
County Girl Scouts of America, and later started a full-time bookkeeping service
for small businesses in downtown Campbell; and
WHEREAS, Jane was appointed to the Campbell Planning Commission in 1978
where she served until 1985, and was reappointed to the Planning Commission in
1990; and
WHEREAS, Jane was elected to the Campbell Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors in 1985 serving in various capacities, and was also Founding
Vice-President of Women in Business, as well as Chair of the Prunefestival in
1976; and
WHEREAS, during this time, Jane was the Founding Chair of the Campbell
"Christmas Social", a fund raiser for the Campbell Fire Department Christmas Toy
Program, a program which today raises money and toys for the needy children in
Campbell and is co-sponsored by Campbell Business Associates; and
WHEREAS, Jane serves as Controller for the Campbell Historical Museum
Association and the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad Corporation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors JANE P. MEYER-KENNEDY on being named 1991 CAMPBELL CITIZEN
OF THE YEAR.
