RESOLUTION NO.
8168
BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMPBELL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SEND A LETTER TO
THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION SUPPORTING
STATE FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE VASONA CORRIDOR PROJECT
WHEREAS, the city Council has evaluated the impacts and
benefits for all the alternatives in the Vasona Corridor
Final Environmental Impact Report; and
WHEREAS, Alternative 4A, a light rail improvement provides
a effective solution in the corridor and confers
significant benefits to the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, state funding to purchase the right of way for the
light rail improvement is necessary for completion of the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
authorizes the Mayor to send a letter to the California
Transportation Commission supporting the use of state funds
for the purchase of the Southern Pacific right of way
including the Vasona option.
