AND THE CAISFORNIA DEPAI2TMENf OF TRANSPOR'PATION FOR CITY MAINPENANCE

AND HAMILTON AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City has required that new signals be installed at the Highway
17 off ramps arri has also required that several signals on Hamilton Avenue
be interconnected; acrd
WHEREAS, interconnected signals require cxng~atible controllers for proper
functioning; aril
WHEREAS, the California Deparlirient of Transportation has exempted the city
from installing state-specified signal controllers at the Highway 17 off
ramps and Hamilton Avenue intersections and has agreed to reimburse the city
for a portion of the annual maintenance costs of the state-owned signals.
NC7W, TITEREF'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Mayor to
execute a maintenance agreement with the California Department of
Transportation.
