RESOLUTION APPROVING STANDARD WAIVER
OF BINGO PERMIT FOR NON-PROFIT CHARITABLE
ORGANIZATIONS CONDUCTING BINGO OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, Section 5.29.010 establishes requirements for the conduct of
bingo games by non-profit charitable organizations within the incorporated
area of the city; and
WHEREAS, charities seeking to conduct bingo are required to obtain a
bingo permit from the Chief of Police and pay an annual permit fee of $50;
and
WHEREAS, no person, organization or other legal entity shall be
permitted to conduct bingo games in the incorporated area of the city
unless they possess a valid certificate or letter from the franchise tax
board and the Internal Revenue Service stating their qualification of such
exemption;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police shall review
and approve bingo permits to non-profit charitable organizations conducting
bingo operations within the City, and shall coordinate with the City Clerk
to assure issuance of such permits.
