RESOLUTION NO. 8097
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
SUPPORTING THE ARTS ON A REGIONAL BASIS
IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell recognizes art is
necessary for a community to thrive and believes in the
value of art for the community and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City is committed to a healthy environment
for the arts through its public facilities, offerings of
special events and cultural arts classes; and
WHEREAS, the City has demonstrated its commitment and
support of the arts on a regional basis through joint
sponsorship of events such as the Campbell Art & Wine
Prunefestival and the Campbell Highland Games;
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the "City Connect"
forum's recommendation for a mission statement for regional
support of the arts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Campbell that it recognizes and endorses the
spirit of this mission statement and encourages each city
in Santa Clara County to adopt this statement:
"We commit ourselves to a Santa Clara Valley
where
the arts freely express our innovative spirit,
celebrate our rich cultural diversity, and inspire
individual and community participation."

of Campbell at a regular meeting this 16th day of April, 1991,
by the following role call vote:
AYES: Ashworth, Burr, Watson, Conant, Rotowski
