CC Resolution 8085RESOLUTION N0. 8085 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council recommendations for the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which are considered to be in the best interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the revised job description for the position of Maintenance Worker I (see attached Exhibit A). Kotowski, Mayor ATTEST: 1 ~ rbara Olsasky, City C1Qr#---- EXHIBIT A CZTY OF CAMPBELL MAINTENANCE WORKER I DEFINITION Under immediate supervision, performs or learns to perform a variety of unskilled and semiskilled street maintenance tasks including operating maintenance and construction equipment; and does related work as required. TYPICAL DUTIES Performs or learns to perform maintenance tasks within the Street Maintenance Section, including tasks within such programs as streets, storm drains, and traffic controls; operates or is taught to operate rollers, asphalt breakers, paint machines, air compressors, five yard dump trucks, backhoes/front-end loaders, street sweepers, and generators; assigned duties may include removal, repair and/or grinding of asphalt, painting of center lines, crosswalks or other street markings, maintenance and installation of street name and regulatory signs, setting up traffic control devices and barricades, cleaning and maintaining storm drains, assisting with street tree leaf pickup program; provides routine and regular care and maintenance of tools and supplies; and performs other duties as assigned. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade plus one year of directly related maintenance experience. Knowledge of: Basic methods and skills required for the general maintenance and construction of public facilities. Ability to: Perform all duties as assigned; undertake work that may require heavy labor and physical dexterity; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; work on a shift basis including weekends, evenings and holidays.
