RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING
SALLY HOWE AS THE
1990 CAMPBELL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Sally Howe has lived in Campbell since 1955 and has worked
unselfishly toward the betterment of the City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Sally has served in the leadership role for the Campbell
Progressive Seniors since January, 1981; and efforts to improve the lives of the
elderly in Campbell have become Sally's mission in life; and
WHEREAS, Sally has been instrumental in the growth of the Campbell
Progressive Seniors from 75 to more than 1,100 clients, and has developed a
mailing list of approximately 1400 supporting businesses, service clubs and
individual friends and volunteer workers for the cause;
WHEREAS, since early 1970, Sally has supported numerous City projects,
including funding of the City Hall complex and facilities, the development and
formation of John D. Morgan Park, the conversion of the Campbell High School
property to the Campbell Community Center, and Campbell Historical Museum events
and activities; and
WHEREAS, Sally served as Vice President of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce
in 1969-70; and
WHEREAS, Sally has been an active member in numerous charity and service
clubs, including the Campbell Country Woman's Club, the Lion's Eye Foundation,
the Campbell Optimists Club, and Campbell Business Associates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
recognizes and honors SALLY HOWE on being named 1990 CAMPBELL CITIZEN OF THE
YEAR.

vote:
