A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF 20% REDEVELOPMENT HOUSING
FUNDS FOR A PART TIME COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER ASSIGNED
TO THE SHARMON PALMS NEIGHBORHOOD AND APPROVING
A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell has designated the
Sharmon Palms neighborhood as a "deteriorating neighborhood" in need of
revitalization; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has invested 20% redevelopment housing
funds and CDBG funds in the acquisition and rehabilitation of low income
housing units in the Sharmon Palms neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the problems of crime, drugs, garbage, graffiti, and
abandoned vehicles continue to plague the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the assignment of a Community Service Officer stationed in
the Sharmon Palms area could assist in the coordination of the City's
efforts to revitalize the neighborhood; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell hereby authorizes the expenditure of $7,605 in 20% Housing Funds
during Fiscal Year 1990-91, and $20,940 in 20% Housing Funds in Fiscal
Year 1991-92 for a part time Sharmon Palms Community Service Officer and
related equipment required by the position.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Police Chief to purchase radios from the
Communications Pool in an amount not to exceed $5,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby authorizes the Public Works Director to purchase a vehicle from the
Motor Pool in an amount not to exceed $15,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
hereby approves the attached budget adjustments.
