A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) TO REPLACE
PERSONAL COMPUTERS WITH ASSOCIATED SUPPORT SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO AWARD A CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the replacement of a portion of the City's personal computers and associated
support services is funded in the FY 12 Information Technology Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Purchasing Policy requires if the equipment's estimated fair
market value is greater than twenty-five thousand dollars a formal bid process has to be used;
and
WHEREAS, the majority of the City's existing personal computers are almost eight years old,
are experiencing a high rate of failure and are no longer supported by the manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, at least two manufacturers have been identified that can provide this equipment;
and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting the purchase/lease of replacement personal computers and
associated support services not to exceed $90,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves issuance of an RFP to
replace personal computers and associated support services not to exceed $90,000 in total.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
award a contract for this upgrade to the Proposer whose proposal is determined to be the most
advantageous to the City.
